Fleur is a functional ceramicist based in Ōtautahi / Christchurch, creating simple, cleanly finished pottery designed for everyday use and enjoyment. While still developing a personal style, their work draws strong inspiration from Aotearoa’s unique landscapes and biodiversity, with a focus on natural form and quiet utility.
Grounded in simplicity and craftsmanship, their ceramics reflect a deep appreciation for material honesty and the rhythms of use. Whether at the wheel or in the studio, their practice is a continued exploration of how form, function, and environment shape the objects we live with.

Artist Discipline: Pottery/ Ceramics
Angu is a first-generation Chinese New Zealander whose ceramic practice explores themes of cultural identity and heritage. What began at a local pottery club evolved into a deeper commitment to the craft through an apprenticeship in Scotland’s Orkney Islands, where Angu refined both technical skills and artistic vision.
Their work merges the aesthetics and traditions of Chinese culture with contemporary New Zealand influences, resulting in functional vessels that are as meaningful as they are beautiful. While each piece participates in a broader cultural dialogue, Angu’s work is ultimately rooted in the joy of making—celebrating form, function, and the quiet beauty of everyday use.
